October 18/19

On the weekend closest to the feast day of St. Luke,

referred to in the scriptures as a physician,

we invite all who desire to come forward

during the service to receive

laying on of hands and anointing with oil for healing.

The prayers and texts of the day

also focus our attention on

the church’s gift and call to healing.
